Give thanks for HIS mercy endureth FOR EVER!

1 O Give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good:

for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 O give thanks unto the God or gods: for his

mercy endureth for ever.

3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his

mercy endureth for every.

4 To him who alone doeth great wonders:

for his mercy endureth for ever.

5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens:

for his mercy endureth for ever.

6 To him that stretched out the earth above the

waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy

endureth for ever.

Tomorrow?

"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Proverbs 27:l

This past week I witnessed something that has been hard to get off my mind. One day we decided we wanted to go to the library on our way out of town and noticed an older man lying face down on the side walk. There were two people standing over him , so we thought maybe he had fallen and they were afraid to move him in case of injury. After we parked, we noticed that more people were gathering around and the man showed no sign of movement. Oddly, no one was doing anything. As we stood at a distance I realized that the man was not moving at all and appeared to not be breathing. Finally, the rescue squad arrived and they began to do CPR. We just stood there and watched! All I could do was pray and cry. I just kept praying "Lord if this man is not saved, Please,Please, give him another chance. The man was never revived.

Another man came up to me on the way out of the building and was telling me that the man was an area minister and had been to the local grocery store and doing his daily routine and just fell over dead, apparently from a massive heart attack. It was so sad but hopefully the man was saved and knew the Lord.

The truth of the matter is that none of us know what a day may bring. I have had several people I know die unexpectedly this year. Just recently, a cousin that was only 57 years ,old died on his way to work with a heart attack. A friend of ours emailed us and told us that her husbands brother had died unexpectedly, he was in his 50's also. We just don't know the time or the hour in which the Lord will call us home.

I have told you all this to say don't waste another day. Enjoy the life that the Lord has given you today. Don't say well tomorrow I'll do this or I'll do that. Don't put off telling those around you that you love and cherish them. Do what the Lord has ask you to do in your life, NOW! There maybe no tomorrow down here for you. Don't wast your life being bitter toward others or holding grudges. Life is just to short. Remember it is only a "vapor that appeareth for a little while and them vanishes away".

If you are a christian, give your life whole heartily for that is where you will find true happiness. If you are not a christian and have never accepted Him as your Savior, I am begging you please don't put it off another day. The Bible says that "today is the day of salvation". I love you all. You have family that loves you but there is no one that loves you like the Lord. He gave His life that you may have eternal life.

As I watched the people doing CPR and this man' s chest moving under the pressure of the rescue worker's hands, I wanted to shout to everyone around "He's gone but what will you do with today?"

"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

Easy as Pie!

Hello everyone! I have been very busy of late and actually I am pooped but I wanted to tell everyone about a very simple pie I made this past week. It is very tasty, like a southern pecan pie, except alot easier and faster. I really love pecan pie and this is a substitute if you want the similar flavor in a hurry. Anyway, it is rather good. I think I am rambling. Like I said I am bordering on dropping out. Here is the recipe. Oh! by the way do you say Pe-can or Pe-con? I say Pe-can! Of course, I am from the south. I also say Ant not AHnt for my mother's or daddy's sisters. (Aunt if you did not understand my rambling). Just interesting southern facts.

Brown Sugar Pie

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

2 eggs

1 cup brown sugar

3 Tablespoons butter, melted

1 Teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat the eggs well, Blend in the brown sugar, butter and vanilla extract until the filling is smooth. Fold in the pecans. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust. Bake for 35 minutes or until the filling is golden brown and set.

Serves 6 to 8.

Recipe from my local paper.

Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day. I hope everyone will take a few minutes and think about the people that have served our country in years gone by and those that are serving us today. I have a very special place in my heart for those that are willing to risk all for our country to remain free.

Below are a few pictures of my Daddy when he was in the navy. I love him very much.
He has been in heaven since the year 2005 but I still miss him as if it were yesterday. He was a very special person in my life and the fact that he served his country with such pride in his heart just adds to the many reasons that I love him. He was a very family oriented person that was born and raised on the farm and loved farm life with a passion. It took a lot for him to leave his family and go over seas but he knew that it was the right thing to do. I remember he told me that his mother wrote him a letter every single day. She did this not only for him but for her other three sons as well. I often have thought about the sacrifice she made to let her sons go. I have also pondered on what you write someone about every single day especially when you live on just a small farm. He was just seventeen at the time of his enlistment and he told me that the world was very different from what he had been raised but when he was wounded and sent home, he loved going back to farming where his heart was planted.

I miss you Daddy and I am just as proud of you today as I ever was!

Am I dying?

Seriously, I am not really dying but it has been rather rough around this place. I thought I was improving but I just took my temp. and it was 100*. Please don't tell me that I have to go another day.

I remember saying the other day that I would like just one day of rest. Be very careful what you say! Now I have had four days of total rest. I do know that the Lord is in control and not matter what He is always good. I realized that I had never had the flu before. I guess there is a first time for everything!

Thanks for all the remedies. Thankfully we had the vit. C but I did not have the peppermint extract but I will be purchasing it . Thanks for all your prayers.

Down and Out

Please pray for our crowd! Three of my daughters, me and my husband have all had some type of cold, flu or something. Now it seems the critters have turned around and struck three of us again. It is simply miserable. If anyone has any good home remedies for the cough, sniffles and just plain down and outs, please , please, please let me know.

Thanks so much and have a great day. The weather outside here is beautiful, I wish so much I could get outside and enjoy it but maybe you can!
