Today is Veteran's Day. I hope everyone will take a few minutes and think about the people that have served our country in years gone by and those that are serving us today. I have a very special place in my heart for those that are willing to risk all for our country to remain free.Below are a few pictures of my Daddy when he was in the navy. I love him very much.
He has been in heaven since the year 2005 but I still miss him as if it were yesterday. He was a very special person in my life and the fact that he served his country with such pride in his heart just adds to the many reasons that I love him. He was a very family oriented person that was born and raised on the farm and loved farm life with a passion. It took a lot for him to leave his family and go over seas but he knew that it was the right thing to do. I remember he told me that his mother wrote him a letter every single day. She did this not only for him but for her other three sons as well. I often have thought about the sacrifice she made to let her sons go. I have also pondered on what you write someone about every single day especially when you live on just a small farm. He was just seventeen at the time of his enlistment and he told me that the world was very different from what he had been raised but when he was wounded and sent home, he loved going back to farming where his heart was planted.

I miss you Daddy and I am just as proud of you today as I ever was!
